Our client was an established London-based fashion designer requiring more space in their family home due to the imminent arrival of twins.
Our brief was to add a light and spacious master suite with home office area to the roof space of the property. A high-end ensuite, discreet bedroom storage units and a general contemporary feel were key requirements of the brief. The clients 'mood' boards reflected her vision of the interior space and a number of simple sketches conveyed her thoughts for the external elevations. The remainder was left up to us!
WKCS produced detail drawings for the project and finalised all of the design work. The shell of the roof extension was erected and made weather tight within 5 weeks of us commencing work on site. During this period, huge bespoke glass bi-fold doors were craned up on to the roof and fixed into position and a zinc roof covering installed.
An external deck was installed in the period that followed while joiners created clever sliding storage systems inside. A glass staircase and balustrades created further wow-factor as did ten bespoke zinc planters which were constructed for the patio to complement the external soffit detail.
